Now is the time of year when the snow starts falling and everyone starts getting winter tires on their car. Are the tires even worth it though. Normal tires use a rubber that at -10C they become useless and start sliding around. There is still a difference of winter and all season tires which is that all season gives the same performance as winter tires till the temperature reaches a low -5 when the it lowers it's traction a bit. Winter tires are also completely useless during the other months so you need two sets of tires. This puts the price at $500 to $2000 per set of tires.
I feel that the market is ripping people off. They want people to buy two sets of tires and spend their money out on this. They are many things the economy does that hurts us.
Malcolm your right this is a rip off. Still though my pops got winter tires and they make a huge difference. I would buy both tiers only because this is a life or death situation and I might need those tires to safe my life and my families.
